Thunder over the Pacific

Salut a toutes!

After building 2 colourful Me 109 from Channel- and Eastern Front, I thought it would be time again for something from the Pacific for my next "Dual Combo" .... okay, 50 % of it And for the first time I tried to airbrush silver over all .... well, more or less over all.
For the first try I have chosen the Academy kits of the P-47 Thunderbolt in 1/48, "D" for Europe and "N" for the Pacific. Hope you like my little Walk Around ....

The colours I used come from Agama (nearly all) and Revell (No. 15 Yellow). That little fellow in the cockpit is from the ICM kit "USAAF pilots and groundpersonal" and the groundplate is again from Mark58. The kits is easy to assambly, no putty is really needed to quickly build this "roaring american thunder".

The original Jug is the "Expected Goose" from the 463. FS, 507. FG, based on Ie Shima 1945. Unfortunatly I didn't find anything about the unit or the aircraft in the Internet. So I don't know, if the plane really flew the way I built it as a long range escort fighter for the B-29 on their way to Japan. Maybe it also flew fighter bomber missions ....

Oh, by the way, before I forget - I will try to be on the expo in Strasbourg in early May this year, so if anyone of you out here happens to be there too, I would be pleased to meet you. There you can see also some of my other models. Currently I'm working on a DeHavilland "Mosquito" FB Mk. VI

Just to give you a glimpse of the other 50 % of my "Dual Combo", this is the P-47 D from the 527. FS, 86. FG, based in Italy 1944. You can find many photos and (color)vidos of the 86. FG in the Internet, but unfortunatly again nothing about this "Rabbit".

my preference goes for the P47N, perhaps more "sexy", and a somewhat rare build
